Flat dark brown croco-print leather

The croco print is an embossing, obtained by pressing the leather with a heated plate that reproduces the crocodile's scale pattern. On a smooth, glossy leather like this one, the scales catch the light differently from one another, and the dark brown shifts from the almost-black of the grooves to the warmer glints of the raised surfaces. The toe is rounded and slightly squared. The strap is thin, in the same croco-print leather as the upper, and crosses the instep as in a mary jane. It fastens on the outer side with an elongated rectangular buckle in gold-tone metal, larger than the strap's width would suggest: it's the shoe's only decorative element. The strap is adjustable and keeps the heel secure in the fit, something that in strapless flats depends solely on the shape of the cut. Inside, the lining is leather and the insole is cuoio-colored leather, stamped with the brand and the words Made in Italy.
