The shape is that of the "engineer" (or "Norwegian") lace-up, recognizable by the toe cap with exposed stitching running in an inverted U over the toe, an extra sturdy joint compared to the classic derby, historically created to reinforce the upper on work shoes and now revived as a characterful detail on dress shoes. Two eyelets with round laces complete the bellows lacing. The welt is in leather, visible along the entire perimeter of the sole: it's the strip that joins upper and sole with stitching visible from the outside. Sole in sturdy para-effect rubber.
